I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I ended up with a “good” corporate job in middle management…but something was missing. I figured that the problem was me and I tried harder to ignore my discontent. My epiphany came on an ordinary day, at an excruciatingly boring, full-day meeting. I admitted my truth…the job was killing my soul.

I didn’t quit my job; I stayed and started to do an unflinching self-examination for the first time in my life. I set my intention to be congruent; to be the same person on the outside, as I was on the inside, and I decided NOT to quit my job until I figured out who I was and what I was meant to do with my life.

What I learned was that finding your true calling in life:

  • has less to do with finding your dream job and more to do with with finding yourself;
  • means you have to stop following every one else’s rules and start making up your own;
  • means you have to figure out what makes you different and unique rather than constantly trying to adapt and fit in;
  • means claiming the gifts and talents you were born with and finding a way to use them;
  • might not lead you to a job that exists…you might have to create your own;
  • might have nothing to do with what work you do – your calling might not be your job!

For me, finding my calling meant that I became self-employed; something I’d never even dreamed about.

My calling is to help people see their own beauty, how great they already are without fixing anything.  Over the last 15 years I have created work that allows me to follow my calling.  I have helped hundreds and hundreds of people to find theirs.  Along the way I put together some concrete and innovative methods for finding your true calling.  I’ve also amassed some useful credentials: a Masters Degree in Psycho-Education; training and certification as a Career Counsellor; graduate training in Brief Therapy; Master Life Coach certification with the brilliant Dr. Martha Beck, best-selling author and monthly columnist in O the Oprah Magazine and Self Coaching 101 certification with Brooke Castillo.

I’ve realized that helping people to see themselves more clearly is something that I can’t not do!  It is a huge part of my soul’s work and I’m amazed that I’ve created this!

Now, the bulk of my work is coaching and teaching.  I am on the Life Coach Training Faculty of Martha Beck Inc, training new life coaches.  I teach Cree and Algonquin students at the First People’s University at the University of Quebec in Val D’Or and I have an on-line coaching business where I help people to find their true calling.  How great is that?

I live in Northern Quebec in a totally French speaking environment and have still been able to make a living doing what I love!  If I can do it anybody can!

I’m the Mom of a teenager that I shamelessly adore.  I’m the step Mom of a free spirit who I unabashedly admire and I’m married to an outgoing, energetic French Canadian husband who is the yang to my yin.   I never dreamed that this would be my life, but when I found my calling it lead me straight to my right life.
